Saturday last, with Chosen Men

Well,  dusted off the rules and put together some 30 Leger for an attack on the guerrillas in the Basque provinces of Spain.  Three squads of French went to dig out the guerrillas in the village,  found quite the thorn in a swivel gun mounted in a wagon.

The village buildings and small woods provided cover to both sides.  The French moved up slowly and evenly over a wide front and , if truth be told simply missed less than their opponents. The loss of the swivel gun and crew opened the  Basque commander to danger and she would succumb to lead poisoning. The Basque units began to live another day.

With two new players, we were glad to see the spirit and legacy lived up. Rumor has it two  new players purchased items from stores,  so new units are bound for the screen.

Next time, likely a cavalry based action.

If you inspired new players to buy figures to field their own units, you did well!

Sounds a great game, lead poisoning? I like that!

That looks like a fun game. I recognise those latex rubber roads from the old JR Miniatures.

I think I have to reciprocate a BattleTech game in payment

Lawrence you would be right about the roads and the game

Sounds like a successful outing Joe!

Good stuff Joe. Thirty (a side?) is a sizeable force for a skirmish game. Love the wagon-mounted swivel gun, what a ripper!
Best wishes, James

It was fun and the recruitment of the new historical players is exciting.

James, 30 figures is admittedly getting the the edge of a skirmish game, but the mechanics make movement and fire more or less by group of 5 to 10 at a time. Thee will be more exploring the lists as more play unfolds.

Great looking game, and inspiring as I plan to run a Peninsula skirmish game in the near future.
