News reports on Imagination campaign

 April 27,1803

Amid the preparation for the crowning of the new Emperor,  tragedy has struck.  There was an assassination attempt on Franz Ferdinand

 Of Kaiserliche whose life

Now hangs inches balance

April 1, 1803

The Electors ' Second round ballot favors Franz Ferdinand.

The second round in the selection names the Kaiserliche candidate as newly elected Emperor.  The coronation will be in the Kaiserliche capitol on the first of May. Electors and heads of state are invited for the installation of Franz Ferdinand.

Plate Fleet sets sail for home.  First week reported uneventful.

March 25th, 1803

The Elector's votes are counted, the candidates are in a three way tie. ( Tin God: The vagaries of counting the vote allow a three way tie in eight votes. I am not not explaining it any further. )

James, The Kur-Furst of Bayerische

Frederick Franz, The Elector of Kaiserliche

Emil, Prince Elector of Hesse

are the choices for round two-

Please note, this is the first tie in two centuries where the vote for Emperor did not go to the House that Frederick Franz  is from. Huge loss of prestige and personal stress to him.

Any player wishing to make changes to their choice of of candidate or the Elector being influenced should let me know. The second vote is Sunday night (East Coast US Daylight Savings).

March first, 1803

It has been decided that the position of emperor has been vacant too long the Electors will meet and choose a new emperor on March 15th. (Being a campaign,  the real date is April 1st).

(What this means is that you, the players have a chance to influence the choice of the Emperor....even though only one of you has a vote.)

Only James, The Kur-Furst of Bayerische,  can vote directly.  In fact, he has presented himself as candidate.

What all players can do is try to influence the votes of the Electors.  Each player has two different chances to influence a vote.

The first is an old fashioned bribe. It will cost 10 National Will points. This gives a chance to influence the vote of an Elector. The points are deducted for the remaining months of the year and will be returned in 1804. The mechanism is straightforward, , you tell me which Elector and up to the 10 points how much the bribe.   Oh, and do be clever,  tell me which troupe of actors is sent touring, which college is endowed, which church  or temple is erected.

The second game is afoot,  and the activity to take some Electors aside to make sure you get their ear is again up to you. A three round game of 1666 is planned, pick this option, again bidding up to 10 will points on the outcome is a possibility.  Another choice is a set of three Chosen Men scenarios.

Or let the Electors make the choice on their own. Hehe.

The Electors:

James, The Kur-Furst of Bayerische

Frederick Franz, The Elector of Kaiserliche

Emil, Prince Elector of Hesse

Wilhelm, Kur-Furst of Nassau

Karl, Duke of Brunswick

Otto, Kur-Furst of Konigliche

Karl  von Hardherz, Kur-Furst of Hanover

Cardinal Giuseppe d'Pescia, Arch Bishop of Scania

All Electors are npc except James, who we can safely assume is voting for himself?

Joe, I am contacting you here as I suspect that some emails that I have sent to you about the campaign have gone astray (or to your junk folder)?!
First one sent 14th August with a second on the 27th.
Cheers, James

James, I received both and answered them. The gist of the responses was I am drafting a report as part of the June weekly turn end . You will get as leader of your country a best guess of intelligence investigations. I have to craft the responses to all the rulers....some like you are not buying the magic aspect so I must come up with two story lines. Also you'll get battle report updates and the opportunities from the switch to monthly moves.
