First two weeks, a bit of a slow time.

Well, except for the continuing saga of the missing rules, it has been a quiet two weeks. For a fistful of reasons, the last couple of Fridays have not seen a regular meeting of the three old men.  We finally collected  together on the eighth. Still unable to unearth my AWOL Badgers & Burrows, we decided to switch to Blood Red Skies at least for the moment.

First, some show and tell.

Roger's Silver Bayonet bands.

And a rabbit.

Next up is Greg's stuff. Despite rumors to the contrary, we do not require players to be dressed in flannel!

Then Greg's band.

And Greg's IJN IJA

And the only shot of the Friday game. As it was more a teaching opportunity than game, no AAR.

Since Roger had not played before, he used three of my P47's (on the right ) and I took the P38's (center) and Greg valiantly held us off with three Zeros. Greg and Roger both utilized the tilt able flight stands that come with the airplanes.  I have opted for the specially marked dice. The P38 is awkward to me on the stands to make the tilting smooth.

When the points value for pilots and plane ratings was summed, the IJN was outpointed nearly three to one. While I am down to the two SB2's to complete, Roger has procured many Luftwaffe air frame types and has vowed to return with his Teutonic bands soon.

WIP

While nothing is finished, here's a look at my painting queue.

Start of the British lights for Battle Road.

And to finally get them out in the light of the tabletop, the 4th Brandenburg, aka the 12th Reserve Regiment of 1813 / the 24th Line Regiment of 1815.

Eclectic 'R Us I suppose.

Having a weekly meet to play helps to get variety as well.

What's wrong with Flannel?! :-)

I spent several months hunting for my copy of "One Hour Wargames", and finally gave in and just bought another copy!
Somewhat contrary to expectation, the missing copy didn't appear shortly thereafter.

Thee is nothing wrong with flannel. I was simply pointing it out that it is not mandatory garb.

Sorry about your experience with the missing rules.

I on the other hand discovered Burrows and Badgers , hiding in plain sight, as expected.
