Ah, Egypt, Silver Bayonet, a short trip down the Nile.

We had several opportunities for the month of August's theme.  It seems skirmish games are the concentration among our group, and the choice was to play with the Silver Bayonet expansion,  Egypt.

Boats are fun. Beats walking, any day.  Three sets of large rowboats are traveling with a contingent of adventuring parties.

Part way to the landing site,  one of the parties runs afoul of some river horses.  Actually, all three parties got into a minor scrape with some curious 'river horses' but landed without losses. After an uneventful landing, the parties find the clues. Roger's French party found a map that purports to know the way sought after.

Meanwhile Greg's troops found a crocodile in a hidden pond. My boys found a nest occupied by a naga, we used the stats are similar to a tomb dweller from earlier stakes. .

There is a croc in their craw.

Next party,  for the opportunity to stop and feed the local fauna.

Roger meanwhile moves on, having secured a map and finding no beasties.

The remaining turns were anticlimactic,  and the scenario was what was wanted,  a tune up of the rules for us all.
Oh, and got to ogle the new terrain.

August games will have 4 or 5 games set in Egypt.  Ra!

Iain, boats always add charm. Thanks for your kind words. You will probably see a bit more of the terrain coming up. Joe

Dean, the terrain collection favors the campaign location, but we could not resist the chance to ride the river. You will see the boats again later this year, thanks for the appreciative comment.

Keith,
the months of July and August around here have the nickname 'dogs days' meaning hot, nasty weather. We laid in some terrain pieces to support the next few scenarios, hopefully pleasing to the eye. There are some other irons in the fire, we hope to have some different games on Fridays mixed with the monthly theme games. Weekends are usually a different group of games featuring time in the store. Looking forward to the upcoming mix of mayhem on your blog.

You have been 'on fire' since returning from the beach, Joe! Posting quicker than any of us can read; figures, painting, terrain, game aids and now this rollicking adventure down the Nile. The ship's boats look beaut (as others have noted) and an eclectic mix of 'shady' characters. I hope that the giant scorpion will make an appearance?!
Regards, James

I did hope to get shorter but more focused posts up. Some subjects draw little attention and others subjects are popular. You will find the scorpion show up soon.
