Flying Mine Caper

The Friday Old Guys were down to two for the eighth. Greg and I braved the next scenario, the Skymine in the core book. A run and grab scenario that features holes in the floor to fall through is probably a good one to miss. We both pulled for a Side Hustle, mine netting a few credits more in the after game. Greg's unfortunately fizzled out.

What follows is not a blow by blow , but it has photos at least!

A rough layout of the table, featuring a 3 foot by three foot play area.

Part of my crew for the day, including a runner, a sniper  and a scout.

The captain and a medic.

The First Mate and a 'Krakker'

Last but not least, some troopers.

Greg's crew entering the board.

A wider shot, includes some of the aforementioned holes shown by jagged shapes.

The rest of Greg's fellows.

It was a cat and mouse sort of game.  Both of us took a few shots while picking up loot counters, hitting opponents at a steady pace.  No armed conflict occurred near the 'holes' and the scenario rule for shaking ground was avoided. Gregg lost a drone and a dog;, a regular crewman went down on my side.

The rules are coming back, a few omissions , by each of us, made the game an increase in accuracy over prior outings. The supply of terrain increased with the 5 counters for the holes.  Most important, we both had a good time.

Next scenario, a missing fence, from the core book.  I may try one of the excellent solo scenarios after that.

Thanks to all of you who responded to the Mission Creep post.  A visit to an old set of rules and some basing will occur for the winter season, more on that in another post.

Iain, Stargrave is my favorite of the skirmish games out right now. May be the source material and flavor just appeal.

Very cool and there us a lot to be said for following a campaign of fixed scenarios as you are doing here....I must try it again one day!

Very cool and who doesn’t love the Mark Copplestone sculpted Cybertronic Troopers! Everything else looked great too.

Especially when we are getting to know about the rules. There are other things we could do in Stargrave, but we are enjoying these situations. Lots more of space cadets in November.

They are nice, you may spot more old War zone figures in the games coming up.
