HeroQuest game report , New toys, an idea for later in the year.

Well, first off, a  really short story about a game of HeroQuest, a look at some new Victrtix models, the Islamic light cavalry;  and finally some Games Workshop Armored dirigibles to be reworked for steampunk games.

First up, as mentioned earlier I got a copy of HeroQuest recently and hosted my first time as the evil wizard with the new toys. My wife reprised her role as the magic user, my daughter her elf role, the new players----- my son in law took on the role of the barbarian and my oldest grand daughter, the dwarf.

We played the first adventure and had dinner as we played.....grinders are such a nice compromise between snacks and interuptting the flow. The adventure party did well, finished the adventure and someday will tackle the next challenge.

The game is physically nicer than the version from the 1990's but otherwise the same.

Great nostalgic afternoon.

Onto new toys!

Front of the bag.

Back of the bag.

Victrix has been busy with several sets of figures for the defenders of the middle east and crusading parties.  Inside the bag are 12 horses, enough riders for the horses and oodles of options for the riders. Bow, spear and hand weapons are included.  Instructions are provided via an insert.

The figures are tagged to expand my Ottoman Army.

Finally,  a great find in my local store,  two smallish fantastic dirigibles from a separate faction from the Age of Sigmar range of GW.  I got them, as is, for half off.  I may use them as is or do some converting.  I will need to decide what paint scheme to use,  but that would be after the background is developed.

The 'lift' is given by the globe filled with unobtainium . Small engines provide horizontal movement. Several years back we had a series of Victorian Science Fiction games. Maybe later this year? On the lookout now for airship color schemes.

It is indeed reassuring to see that like me …. You definitely did not fall fowl to the temptations of the new Victrix figures… 🤣

All the best. Aly
