Practice, Practice

What a treat!  First pass at the Yorktown scenario in  Tabletop Games.  The Friday old guys managed to get almost 50 aircraft  models and the CV Yorktown on the table.

We pushed the playing pieces around and did three takes on the scenario.  We were able to find problems and identify solutions for play balance and time allowed for a reasonable game.

Now you are really here for the photos,  so....

Roger kept the rules open.  Hardly seemed fair.

Yes, there are F6F and Corsairs posing as Wildcats.

More IJN assets.

15 Vals, 12 Kates and a dozen Zeros.

The first attempt was 50 models and took too much time.  We reduced the model count by half, and rethought the position of the CV model to the  table edges. We do it again in a week at noonish on the last day of May.

I know that you could be satisfied with my photo dump, will have a follow on report about the forces and players this week. Maybe a few more photos as well.

Marvellous. Mobs of planes, a beautiful ocean and lovely ship.
Only one problem. When it comes to the real thing you need to take many, many, many, many more photos (please) 😀!!
Best wishes, James

Glad you liked it. The day itself just got better and better. I will try to get as many photos as possible during the actual game-although that is not my strong suit . In the meantime I will regale you with shots of the plane, possible upgrades and how the background all ties together.

Keith, CV is just under five feet long. All the pieces are in scale....1'200th.
