Back to Calabria -Silver Bayonet approaching coloful details
I arrived on the late side of noonish for Friday's game. He had already provided a lavishly equipped table. The village market was fully stocked, farmyard animals roamed the village streets as well. Greg had finished building and painting the Market set form Wargames Atlantic. The church and village buildings are par of his collection as well.
We continued the cooperative campaign scenarios, with the fourth, 'the forest' being played. we each used one half a squad roster. Since I misplaced my Veteran British group , I went with the smaller French Hunters' list.
The woods however were provided mostly from the store's stock, a privilege of gaming there! Greg did provide some embellishments here, small animals in the undergrowth, the odd arcane sigil.
The witches in this part of Italy are famous for the effectiveness of the Rvil Eye. In the game it caused several bad outcomes.
The creature vanished, unnaturally.
Fragment of the report by the Sapper:
It was just too much. Our Capitan lost 8 of 10 wounds to a foul dark Wolf. Our Investigator of the Unworldly lost 5 of 9 wounds to the same creature. Did I mention the wounds came in one melee? That everyone except the doctor hit and wounded the brute before killing it. And then...it vanished, its corpse melting into the forest floor. The doctor bravely patched both our wounded and then all of us came back to camp as quickly as possible.
Later we learned of more evil...
Farther along in the forest, another party came upon witches and possessed forest animals as well as more wolves. Though slightly better armed and slightly luckier, the other party also retreated out of the woods.
There you have it, beautiful but deadly. Lots of fun on a Friday.
