Blitz on Lilliput ........the Riders of Roitan Part One

Well, this is a favorite project.  Take a favorite board game and make it an imagination,  take a favorite scale,  20mm, period, early WW2,  and a favorite army, the Poles.

So I will start with photos of some units,  the easy part. It's been fun looking at the units,  mostly FAA castings and some vehicles all pretty much painted and mounted.

I collected and mounted for Command Decision, except my own basing conceit is to use 40 by 40mm bases with two or three on a stand.  Each stand represents a platoon of infantry, a company is three stands.

Battalion support includes mortars, .30 caliber machine guns, command and staff.

Some of the infantry battalion components:

Front stands sport the ATR  rifle issued to use tungsten tipped rounds.

MMG teams from battalion.

front stand represents 50 mm mortars, firing position; rear stand shows 81mm mortar teams in travel mode.

More kit and information on unit structure coming up.

Good night for now.

Thanks, Matt, a bit more to come. I hope you will enjoy this little project.

Keith, You will see cavalry units, but not that inaccurate drivel about the 'Lancers versus Panzers' ....a pet peeve of mine that it's still bandied about.

Almost every action involving cavalry has the dismounted troopers performing the attack or defense. The 1939 campaign has such drama to offer looking at individual actions. The campaign is a good read if you can blow through the propaganda.

Lawrence, thanks, there will be several games with these versus other Imagination thirties armies.

Stew, I am biased in this matter. The confluence of so many interests.
