Austrians are a comin'
I didn't think it would be this much fun. I have painted Russian, British, Prussian, even French armies but until the last year or so not many Austrians, especially line Napoleonics.
Two 18 man battalions.
And the final two.
That is starting to change, and between Perry and Piano figures there will be eight more battalions joining these six. The artillery will see additional batteries , the cavalry will expand from two regiments to well over six more. Plus some Landwehr units. I may even increase the number of battalions in the line regiments....from two to three.

Nice 'simple' uniforms, en mass they look quite good. I really like the mix of metal command and plastic center companies in the battalions.
They are more varied than I thought. Actually kind of fun. They are rather addictive once you start.
Dave,
I think the overcoat is grey, The coat underneath is as the regiment, at least for the line.
I really like painting them myself; paint the pants and jacket white, stain in some fashion during or after painting, and you're half done already!
You have a bout 2 dozen different facing colors to choose from, and with the Landwehr, ExK Legion, Jagers, and Grenz they don't have to be all white!
Yours are looking good, Joe!
Thanks....I have some Sash & Saber Austrians I used as 1809 Hesse Kassel troops and they are lovely sculpts.
Peter,
Since I started with the Grenz and Jagers first, getting to the line with all the white does add to the numbers quickly. Thank goodness the Landwehr are in different ( ie, not white) color coats. Of course, you've collected and showcased the white horde better than most. The use of the fast paints or contrast paints certainly helps with the white uniform.

I did pick the facings that were brightest for the first units.
hanks, the Krylon flat white primer as a start, then some Fast Paint white for most all the uniform, artist's tube acrylic- straight and only with enough water to work the brush. Facings are from whatever looked close.
I’m looking forward to getting more cavalry and then artillery.
Just waiting on you and Peter A to set up some massive games at the Tabletop Game Center. I need to start reading the FoB rules.
