A little more real life

Just when you think it's a good time to have a half bath installed,  the furnace is declared D.O.A.  as a usable unit.

Results will include no increase in use of the game table in the basement as the area will no doubt be the province of the workman until the job is done.

Guess the trip to the toystore is a good idea for distraction.  The other good thing is that it's not a winter month yet. The calendar is busier than before all this activity.

The rough plumbing on the half bath is to be completed Friday. ..

We will see a contractor today about the furnace.

This may affect blogging for a while.

Sorry, no new pictures, here is an old set.

Actually a before and after.

You are lucky that your furnace did not fail in the dead of winter.

Real life can be a bit of a sod at times, hopefully you will get your problems sorted out in good time.

This was a 13 year old unit, disappointed.

Sometimes, but then again it is just a thing, no one is sick or injured so there is that. Two weeks from now I will enjoy a shorter, warmer trip to the loo and put the cleaned off workbench to hobby use.

Yes, but regular maintenance should prevent such an emergency. I've lived through that...and two week long power outages. Maybe next up is a generator.

That is a real pain Joe! Coincidentally, I have just come from the Epictecus blog, where the author has recently had a game of CnC with his regular plumber....so perhaps, during your refit, you will pick up a new gaming buddy!

Feel for you Joe our house was built in 1867 and almost every week stuff happens 🥲

1840 is our house. Lots of charm, problems like most homes.

Keith, yes, lemon to lemonade.

Just had the same happen to one of my investment units. Four times the cost to fit it than the cost of the replacement unit itself. I hope you're back up and going soon Joe.

Lawrence, Rough plumbing done. Crew in Monday for the new furnace. Got a tooth extracted Saturday. Contractor coming tomorrow to measure for non plumbing part of the bathroom conversion. Local seasonal festivals are the docket today. Cheers, Joe
