Silver bayonet-Italy book-first scenario

We started the Italy campaign book supplement this last week. Greg and I worked throughout the first scenario to get through the mechanics of the setting and new situations.

Portions of graveyard and the full church exterior.

Actual shot of game crisis moment!

In the central area, two ghosts and a black dog assault my party . Greg's band of cut-throats can be seen skulking at the bottom of the photo. In the photo, examples of the local architecture from my hand made foam core to Greg's most recent (and quite spiffy) 3D printed village three floor.

The Italy supplement introduces a very cinematic setting that oozes  character.  Green mists, waves of challenges and monsters both stock and tailored for the book.

The church interior, just too pretty not to show!

Moving to the Friday this week, Roger, Greg and I went back to the village, retraced the action with horrendously different results.

A shot of the second Friday game, my stout laddies pushing off.

On the envelope to the front of the photo are the scribbling's of my fevered mind as I record and prestidigitate the band's progress.

A better view of the horrendous climax of last week... those

ghosts ....but they are truly dead and gone !

  This week's endgame,

even with the addition of a patrol of French grenadiers, a comparative walk in the park. That is for my party.  Greg's Calabresi were the magnet for the woe of the Undead, Ghosts and Black Dogs. Three members of his band lay broken in the graveyard or the village lanes nearby.

Roger's band? He threaded the needle and came out with some experience and no casualties. The game was so intense that the above photo is the only one we took !

We move on to the next scenario in the afternoon of the last Friday of April.  Bears allowing and the creek don't rise.......

Thanks, a group effort as in a lot of our skirmish games.

Lawrence, Greg really came through this time, the church and graveyard are his.

Between the 3d prints and the use of some tried and true 'stuff' we will have a lot of Italy's terrain looking good.

Stew,
So far, with my Veteran of many missions band, I am doing real well. Greg on the other hand is searching for ways to shore up his Calabrese band or morph into a Napolitan sponsored group. Roger is the wild card with his Austrians.
We have another scenario this Friday, another the week after. Then a short break to practice for the defense of the Yorktown, using Blood Red Skies.

Great looking set up and terrain, Joe. I may have to get a few similar buildings for my Italian Wars project. Although, I think some of the Spanish-style stuff I have for Peninsula War could work.

I think the Mediterranean style building works for anywhere from the Iberian peninsula to the near east.

Fun looking and sounding games Joe…
I have a fair number of Silver Bayonet toys waiting patiently/impatiently on the lead Alp… I am looking forward to eventually getting some games in.

All the best. Aly

Aly, It is a good thing our toys are as patient as can be. otherwise it would be the Rise of the Lead (plastic) soldiers! The game is fun, I especially like the Bridge troll scenario.
