Finishing June with a game of Battle tech Alpha Strike

 Since the 1980s I have seen BattleTech but never played.  That all changed this Friday 28 June.

Big Stompy robot looking pieces were never my style but what can you do when the proponents provide the pieces, set up the table and know the rules,  provide the dice and don't worry about your measurements.

Obviously you say yes and so my first game of BattleTech- Alpha strike occurred . 

The event is poorly documented in photos but the effect will linger.  It, the rules,  were a straightforward and very well laid out document. 

Each player started with seven mechs  on the table each Mech had a different capability  that was shown on a card. The cards help the play by a large measure,  you could see ranges, to hit numbers and a damage report all in one place..

TACTICS seem to work,  at least you can mass firepower to hit the same target with multiple of your mechs . 

I may look into the combination with troops,  armor and aircraft.  Heh,heh.
