Blood on the Streets AD 1666 game

Friday was round three in our AD1666 campaign.  It was Greg's French Musketeers against Roger fielding the Poles.

Short, violent, interesting twist at the end. Aramis goes down and is captured by the Poles. Major coup, as D'Artagnan had already succumbed to a hail of balls shot at him, Porthos and Athos were nursing wounds from the previous scenario and were not available.  Jean and his little flower girl buddy who paved the way to take Longinus out and severely damage Wolodwosky.

Game at start, the French musketeers played blue, the Poles were red team.

Mid game. the French shoot -a lot-and whittle down the Poles. The Courtesan is heading to the basement.

Just after Longinus' fall to Aramis.

Poles take revenge on Aramis, bringing him to zero wounds, scenario calls for his capture.  Subsequent turns find him shuffled off board before the remaining French can attempt a rescue.

An aside, I used some crates, tables and a barrel to upgrade the action i the game; looked good but were tactically a non event in the game.   Well, Jean clambered over a table unopposed , but that was it. Maybe next time.  Or is next time 'Suburban Nightmare?'

Looks like an interesting system.

Agree with Jon, I quite like using cardboard base boards for this skirmish level of gaming

I like that we can play 2,3,4 or even 5 players. Never boring....sometimes frustrating but always down to the wire. I like the resolution system, rapidly looking at using it elsewhere. Highly recommend the game.

Component quality is topnotch. Layout is a breeze. Very effective visually.
