1813 Swedish Army Brigade ( box) 5

This brigade served detached in  Walmoden's Corps in Northern Germany. Opponents included French and Danish forces. No battles as large as the ones around Leipzig, but interesting nonetheless.  This wraps up the six box saga, leaving the Cavalry units to a later date, although I have photos on the Swedish Army tab.

Commander: Lt. General Bergenstrohla

Lighter blue coats than standard later on.

It has been interesting to see the Swedish army of a century later and compare them with my recently painted GNW Swedes Joe. Most of the unit names and the flags are very similar to the earlier period eg Jonkoping is a unit I may still paint, primarily because they have a great looking flag!

I especially likwe the light blue coated Swedes; IIRC, this regt, Jonkoping, and the Bohuslans.

Variety comes into play, partly due to the thrifty husbanding of old uniforms & cloth stocks. Makes for an interesting army on the table.
