Friday fights, more Galactic Knights

Friday was a big game, 4000 points aside. Greg brought his newly procured Entomolians and Roger his trusty Carnivores.   It was much like an Alfred  Hitchcok movie.

The Entomolian fleet drops out of its flight.

  The Carnivores start their run..

It's the Avarian Fleet! The Birds are coming!

2000 points for each of the Entomolian and Carnivore fleets. Greg made his debut as Entomolian fleet leader, Roger brought the biggest Carnivore force to date, I deployed some 4000 points of Avarian ships.

Each side had selected a Battle Cruiser, anywhere from two to six cruisers , and a few destroyers or smaller craft. The Entomolian and Carnivore fleets covered each other and would make fine match for close in fighting, the strength of both fleets. None of us had played the Avarians before, and that, I knew; would be to my advantage.

End turn two, the Entomolian advanced slowly on the Avarians, just out of medium range, a zone where neither side could damage the other.

Avarians facing towards the Entomolian fleet.

The twin boom ship is the Avarian Battle Cruiser (BC). Yes the ships are painted in godawful colors, I did not think primed ships would show up very well.

Same view looking at the Carnivore fleet.

Oooops! we've come to turn 3 and the range has closed. Several of the Avarian rail guns...their 'secret' weapon, have range on a target

.
Elements of the Entomolians get closer

Both the Carnivore and Entomolian fleets carry small numbers of fighters.  The Avarian fleet carried more fighter than its adversaries combined.

The extra Avarian fighters helped put down Entomolian and Carnivore missiles and fighter threats.
All while causing damage by attacking the enemy boats.

The Avarian fleet holds offf the Carnivores .

While bringing home the attack on the Entomolians.

Losing a cruiser and destroyer leader each, as well as starbombers, the Carnivore and Entomolian fleets left the area via ftl jumping, leaving the Avarians in charge of the local vacumn of space.

Three hours, three fleets , three admirals of Galactic Knight proportion.  Fun Friday.

Looks like a whole lot of fun was had. I have an interest in this game!

It (the rules) are quick and clear and some subtle things are yet to be delved into for scenarios.

The mechanics are left murky in the AAR as the games shown would probably bog down reported in a blow by blow.

Best thing to try would be the Facebook page for Monday Knights production.

Awesome stuff there - you don't see Galactic Knights often enough.

The Avarians should be in bright plumage!

The Avarians can be tough with their superior fighters and the rail guns... but the Tweeties don’t want to let the Entomalians or the Carvivorans get too close too soon!

I have no idea what universe this is but it’s cool to see large fleets fighting it out in space. 😀

Stew, it is fun. And these had been essentially learning games.

Peter, yes I got lucky as the opposing commanders broke off just as they were getting into gun range of their main armaments. Early days.
