September battles part one
Well Fridays will be busy enough in September with AD1666 games we are sorting through the expansion called Swords of Light and Darkness . I'm going to show you the Cardinals guards. I hope to finish them soon, they are blocked out with a basic red design. There are some of the heroes from the game playing the red side which I controlled the next few pictures show the game pretty much turn by turn until the blue side victory
Very fast paint job, they did get table time and are 85% done.
Of course, the afternoon started with show & tell. Greg had several figures from the Burrows and Badgers range.
Some ancestry in the Sabertooth line, no doubt.

The main attraction of the day was of course the AD1666 game. The blue team needs to get three nobles out of the cellar and out certain exits; the red team player must stop them.
Set up, mostly the red team. It looked like a swarm attack
Close up of the blue team.
The colored discs represent entry to the level where the targets of Red's mission are located.
In this photo the bottom row tells it all, how in the basement D'Artangan held back the tide of red team members, injuring a Hidalgo to allow an unfettered escape route to two of the three nobles in the basement.
First escapee!
Second escapee. D'Artangan follows up on Hidalgo, only to have a Polish Dragoon shoot him.
Last turn of the game. The third noble (top of board) might make it off the board the turn after! A 4 to 2 win for the Blues.
In hindsight, a different mix of heroes may be the answer to plugging the escape route used by the blue player.
Oh, yeah, I have given in to peer pressure, we will be playing this, probably in December. More on this later.

Lawrence, if you mean the Burrows and Badgers game, I am warming to the idea of it. It will be a few weeks before we play it, but it should have several unique bands of beasts.
