A lick of paint the Hartwell_Tavern build.

Despite misplacing a few windows on the last building,  the complex is complete.

The roofs are painted  'Folkart' Bluebell,  the walls 'Ceramcoat ' Dark Burnt Umber, the window lights in a titanium white artist acrylic pretty much straight from the tube.

The results on the roof color still needs toying with but overall the effect is what I was aiming to get.

First up, the Gambreled roof building. Front view

Gambrel roof building, side view.

Main building rear view.

Main building side view.

Main building front view.

Kitchen one side.

Kitchen, other side.

Yes, a couple of the doors need rehanging. All three kits were great to assemble well marked and made. Popped right out. Fit nicely.

There is one more building to build, I will share that when completed.

On to the troops now.

Almost forgot the bridge, with the piers painted.

Comments

Excellent construction work! Ceramcoat acrylic paints are what I use for all of my Wargaming painting needs.

They are great looking buildings Joe - looking forward to seeing the project progress to the troops on the table later this year!

Jonathan, Ceramcoat and the other craft paint lines are a mainstay in a lot of my troops and terrain. Good value and some great colors.

Matt, thank you, the only other mdf building I had built was a quonset hut that resides at Greg's.

Keith, keep watching, mostly the units involved are what I will paint in February and March. So little time.

That looks great Joe. Did you have to water down the craft paints much so as not to obscure the details on the model?

Lawrence,
The folkart bluebell was thick inches bottle, so 1part water to three paint.

The red oxide and umber were just a drop or to to ten parts paint, the bottles on both were pretty new.

White, full strength from the tube. That had to be thick looking.

The piers to the bridge are done up in three grays, light medium and dark.

Next building will be only slightly different.
