July's final post
Grated crate and & a 7 Days to the Rhine game.
Well a Wizkids gaming piece. Used a brown Army Painter Fast Paint for the base and Vallejo Oily Steel
thinned with Army Painter fast medium ; took longer to dry than to paint.
I am probably kidding myself on its usefulness, but having the ability to cage an opponent----price less.
A company column, second line with the HS-30's and Leopard 1's encounters a Spetnatz team holding s key village.
We decided to play a 7 Days to the Rhine as Roger had missed the previous game between Greg and me.
We played one tank heavy and one infantry heavy team, played by Greg and Roger respectedly against a depleted Motor rifle formation (six carriers of infantry and Eight t-64's, a recce Brdm.
The first two turns the Germans led a supply convoy out of danger, occupied one village, contested two other and generally advanced towards key positions. The Spetnatz teams, 4 stands of infantry set in ambush were the only fly in the ointment. A Marder went down in an ambush in a wooded road location and part of a key village was blocked. On the third turn he Russian armor & motor infantry rolled on and the Bundeswehr command signaled a retreat after a second Marder was hit and destroyed. .
We played for over two hours, chatting over and looking up rules. The activation rules give quite a bit of pause in turn. We did feel a better grasp of the mechanics. Another scenario will be played August 19th a Friday which will see only two of us, Roger and myself, available to play.

I'd be happy to hear more thoughts and AAR on this rule set.
