Next couple of months
Well, summer is winding down and the September -October gaming looks like some return to bigger games than we'd done this summer. On the Friday game front, there will be a better dressed replay of the "North German Plain " scenario using the Modern Micro Scale rules we tried out awhile back.
Familiar?
The terrain will look similar, but more paint on the Soviet forces and more of the correct vehicles to the scenario's units will be a more satisfying eye candy roll out. The last of the T-64's and BTR-60'S are in the painting queue.
More tiny tanks.
That is one of three Fridays; the other two include a Cossack raid on a border area using Chosen Men, depicting a situation drawn from our imagination campaign. It seems the Cossack boys slipped the leash held by Czar Elmer and are out to collect sheep, goats and possibly some damsels. Anytime I paint Cossacks, gotta find a use. I will have to get a map and force list together on the raid. The idea may generate several games.
And a second foray into Stargrave. Okay, it can't all be big games.
The first and last Fridays of September will see me solo gaming, so no guarantees. 😩
Saturdays for the next few weeks include a Bolt Action league at the Tabletop Games store. My Vichy French are 0 for 1, but game for another shot. I have some truck borne mobility to try; of course it could just get me into trouble faster. I think the league continues through the month.
Vallejo Dark Yellow, charcoal grey for tires.
Fans of the imagination campaign will be thrilled to hear we will try to complete all three of the first turn battles in October. Yes, the bridges of Lower Kaiserlich will be either in evil Daharran hands or the sites of glorious K&K victories. You may even be treated to more Dahrran cruelty as Roger has prepared his battle report and an epilogue of sorts to the first battle.
Possible observer of one of the upcoming Daharra-K&K bridge battles. A British staff orderly, from Perry miniatures. Mostly Army Painter fast paints used.
We should get weather that allows the use of the garage tables, so that set up and play don't threaten heat exhaustion. It is almost September, this summer has been hot and very dry.
Comments
Except for the maps and army lists for the imagination battles (all in distant October) most of the collecting and painting is done.
Sometimes a new era is daunting...do any other group members share an interest in a new venture? Some folk just need a push. Be careful though, you could end up like us butterflies.
