Some more Wars of Ozz cross over

 Those of you that go back to oh, the beginning of the year on the blog might recall my project to field a 'Land of Harvest Army' for the table using the Wars of Ozz figures.  Not a blow by blow report, rather an excuse to post photos of the exercise.

                                               So, there they are, coming around the bend.

Standing in for the Quadlings, the Brunswickers. The squares contain unit/commander info.

 My friend Roger and I had set to play the rules out a few turns. The 'battle' is set in the imagined Grand Duchy of Brunswik, which is at least a week away from the present unpleasantness. Brunswik is ruled by the Duke, a very dour fellow.  The main North-South road in the duchy is jokingly referred to as the Romantichestrasse...as nobody sees much to touch the tender-hearted in much of the Duchy. The army is all dressed in black uniforms.

Thus it seems the perfect force to stand in for the Quadlings in our first Ozz outing. 

The leader of the Quadlings is the witch Glinda. We substituted  the Duke for the combination general/magic user.  Other brigade commanders had attributes roled for choice. The light battalions were to be the Southern province foot; the line the Northern Province, the Lieb, AvantGarde , and the artillery and cavalry represent the Central province.

 In the upper center the 'Quadling ' cavalry pushes back some lessor pumpkins.

Some Greater Pumpkins prepare their own charge..on the batteries of the Quadlings.

 

 

In real life, technology reared its ugly head but surprised me pleasantly.  An update to the 'gallery app' 

provided me with an editing tool that could be useful.

I rather like the effects and may revisit the battle with the filters on to tell the story.

For those of you wondering, Cavalry don't like the 'popping attack' and the artillery held, barely, against the Giant Pumpkin Heads.  Thanks mostly to some vicious rolling to hit.

The rules were very interesting calling back to some old time mechanics.  These mixed with  some different takes for initiative/sequence of play. 

 

The next outing will be a little more formal, in the September/October time frame.
