AD1666 with the Spanish

Not Spanish, or even AD1666...but cool nonetheless. Admit it, you're here for the pictures.

Last minute decision....the Friday game of 4/23 is the debut of the Spanish faction.

Mostly showing Cossacks here, Two Hidalgos are just off camera on the bottom of frame, El Baratero is just on stage right center of photo.

The scenario is the three way (player) version of "Cursed Ring" a horrid traffic jam at night as 2 or 3 or 4 factions descend on a graveyard in search of a ring already laid to rest.  Cossacks, King's Musketeers and the Spanish. The Spanish are recognizable as the unpainted faction, except for the hats on the Hidalgo pieces being blocked out.

Don Quixote and Sancho Panza are in the band.

El Capitan, as leader, and El Baratero...yes based on ' Machete' from the grindhouse movies.

                                                        The three Hidalgos.

Final two, heroines. Francesca, the small one on the right became so effective with her blowgun early on in he game she was shot in the head and had several of the King's Musketeers to her credit first. The taller, Catalina, is not impressed by small talk and quite handy with her halberd.  Will she avenge her friend?

Halfway through the game, the King's Musketeers are hurting with two musketeers and Aramis gone, the Cossacks are poised to strike at the objective;  and  the Spanish  might still pull something off despite being down Francesca and El Baratero.

The situation at the gravesite at end of session.

Catalina, El Capitan, Quixote and Sancho are around Kmicic and Bohun, who themselves are graveside.  The other Cossacks are off camera upper left...the remainder of the King's Musketeers are off camera to the right or hors d'combat.

Apologies for the unpainted faction but in all honesty the Ottomans  did take longer than anticipated. So have two other projects ( Ozzzz and Napoleonic Swedes.)

Next installment and possibly more paint on the Spaniards.  After Friday.

I think that they are taking trick or treat a little too seriously, Joe!
Fine looking figures as you note, as are the 'swashbucklers' too.
