Done and the flocking Semaphore post; something extra
From the Perry Miniatures lists, the Portuguese Semaphore post. The large blue critter in the background is not part of the semaphore crew, but he seems determined to photo-bomb them.
Contrast paints on crew, three inch wooden disk as base, terrain blue Styrofoam insulation. coated with black Gesso and raw sienna paint from Blick Art Supply.
Originally the outcrop was higher but both my local critics thought more room was needed for the crew, so slicing off the top half inch gave me more real estate. All that remains is some flock/brush.
A cute vignette for the table, especially in our upcoming Chosen Men scenarios.
Does look better cropped.
Different view, cropped.
As advertised, flocked!
Farther back.
Something extra.

As for cavalry or semaphore?
Maybe a scenario where the crew is signalling for reinforcements by/for the Portuguese would move them up your buying chain. Only 4 foot figures and the spindly semaphore. Less work than 8 or more horse.
Thanks fr the kind words, it was a fun project.
Peter,
You've done the hard part, then! Think of how cool the train would look!

p.s. What is that blue boogey man in the background?!!!
