A small project

This is gonna be a challenge.  Epic scale Eastern Woodlands tribes...in resin that is clear.

Why? Best reason,  because.  The local store,  Tabletop,  has a small campaign to make use of the Epic scale ( 13.5mm?) Figures that are ready to play.  The concept is clever, 6 players, three teams representing the colonies in New Amsterdam,  Connecticut, and New France.

The Eastern Woodlands tribes are allied to the New France player.  The tribes are 3d printed and will consist of 8 or 10 stands in skirmish order.

First attempt to prime.  Gauche used, thinned with water. Mounting putty holds the figures. I rarely use putty but the thought of popping out the mini's from glued on anything gave me reservations.  Using tweezers to put the figures in the putty.

At least there's only about 20 of them.

Baby steps, pants or torso skin color tests.

Let's see if speed paint works here.  Kinda, but the details are frustrating. My eyes literally "wash out" and I can not see any details.

It's a simple scheme of flesh,  leather, face paint, wood with metal details. The challenge is that I have never painted smaller than 20mm, except for some WW2 Italians, and that was almost 20 years ago. There's more colors and on smaller figures for this project.

15mm Italian light flack from circa 2007.

Totally different but easier on my eyes, new RPG book. Looks like a very good idea

After Mansions of Madness, there are hundreds,  at least dozens  of scenarios for this.

They look lovely little figures, and a very interesting gaming concept, look forward to seeing your progress in the painting and gaming with them.

Yikes, the woodland warriors sound like a bear to paint!
Arkham Horror sounds interesting. Can I assume there’s some kind of sanity checking mechanic? I have Mothership- loosely based on horror scifi such as Alien and it has a panic mechanic where players’ characters can suffer from emotional trauma up to having a heart attack.
Good look painting your small Natives.

I did some Indians in 28mm recently and found them challenging enough. The hardest thing is all the different colours and lack of uniformity.

Thanks Don, I should have more when they ( the Indians) are painted.

Yes there are sanity issues playing.

Jonathan, you are too kind.

Lawrence, I have some 28mm Indian figures from Perry , a scale I much prefer.

Great sounding group project, Joe. I was tempted to get some Wargames Atlantic Ashigaru in 10mm, but decided to stick with 25/28mm for now.

Good luck with the painting Joe, the quality and detail available via 3d printing nowadays really is amazing!

Teeny tiny troops, I can't cope with anything smaller than 28mm to be honest, you're a better man than I am! Nice to do a collective project though!

Keith, yes as in your recent army building attests. I will do my best, will wrap these guys up tomorrow or Monday.

Iain, I agree with you, last epic I will take on, strictly an ability issue.

I agree, painting anything smaller than 20 mm is a pain for me. Il like the store's campaign concept, though, so I get your supporting it and the store as well!

Yes supporting the event was the best part. Although I did tick off the 'tried it ' box on the scale. You can see the results soon on YouTube.
